AMI 3-6 Diploma accepted by NZQA as a Level 7 Qualification
MMEF is delighted to announce that the AMI 3-6 Diploma will remain on the NZQA framework though now as a new Level 7 Diploma. We are extremely pleased with this outcome!
In a nutshell – what does this mean?
- The AMI 3-6 (Level 7) is acknowledged by NZQA as meeting the rigour and quality of a Level 7 qualification.
- MMEF can accept international students on the AMI 3-6 course (Level 7) starting in July 2018.
- AMI 3-6 Course (Level 7) graduates (without a BTchg (ECE) will be able to gain cross credits towards the BTchg (ECE) with the Early Childhood Education Institute Te Rito Maioha. We are currently communicating with the tertiary provider to finalise exactly what this will look like for our students.

Close on the heels of our success with NZQA, Carol Potts became New Zealand’s first AMI 3-6 Trainer.
We congratulate Carol for her sheer persistence! This whakatauki seems to be most befitting…Te Toia Te Haumatia – Nothing can be achieved without a plan, work and a way of doing things.
